Tara Donovan of Pace Gallery New York is a large-scale installation and sculpture artist known best for making imaginative and intriguing artwork from ordinary everyday objects. Lovers of crystals and mineral forms, we ADORE the way her curious and mesmerizing installations resemble crystallized formations, made only from acrylic, adhesive, buttons, glue and polyester film. If you’re in New York be sure to look her up and get yourself to one of her many amazing exhibitions.
Le ‘a Vinson || A Guide To Summer
When two of your favourites collaborate to create some really beautiful imagery and all captured on the beautiful spanish island of Ibiza, well this personally ticks a lot of boxes for us. It’s no secret we are massive fans of All That Remains each and every season, loving every collection and hoping all the pieces will magically appear in our closet. You’ve got to love those 70’s inspired crochet bikinis by ATR which is so well complimented by Henrik Purienne style and work, colours and tones. We adore these two and were so thrilled when we heard of this shoot, a match made in heaven really! A Guide To Summer perfectly captures that eternal youth and endless european summer we all dream about, chasing the sun, salty hair, spanish beer and the Med, what more could you want?
– We hope you love this as much as we do, Salute!

This is definitely one of those mind blowingly incredible places where architecture and landscape marry oh-so well, to create some sort of design magic! Floating above a treasured entrance, a unique rooftop infinity pool embellishes beautiful Tinos Island in Greece’s Cyclades archipelago. The largest of its kind, Tinos Island has recently become a focal point for architectural inspiration. Among the island’s derelict windmills and over 1000 artistic dovecotes, sculptors and painters have found inspiration and so did Athens-based studio Kois Associated Architects when creating the fascinating Mirage House.

Dreaming of a tropical island getaway surrounded by coral reef, a blue lagoon and white sandy beaches?
THE BRANDO – a luxurious ECO-friendly resort on the private island of Teti’aroa, 53km south of Tahiti in French Polynesia, comprises of 35 private villas on white-sand beaches surrounding a crystal blue lagoon.
Enticed by magical blue hues and turquoise for days?
Well the one and only Marlon Brando was back in 1960 when he ‘discovered’ this little gem while location scouting for the movie ‘Mutiny on the Bounty’. He purchased the atoll by 1967 for a mere $270,000, building a simple 12-bungalow village for friends, family and scientists to stay. The village later became a simple hotel that ran for over 25 years; Brando even had plans to later build a luxury resort on the island in the near future.
After Brando died in 2004, with no mention or instructions for Teti’aroa in his will, the rights to develop this exclusive resort was left to a Tahitian hotel brand, and so THE BRANDO was born! The island can only be accessed by private plane (to protect the reef), and the luxury eco-resort is an all-inclusive private getaway made up of 35 private villas (sustainably built with local materials of course), we LOVE everything about this place!
The Brando is seriously heaven on earth, cannot wait to visit one day!

Guatemala Is like no other. It is inspiring, romantic, adventurous and amazingly colorful. We have both had the privilege of visiting this beautiful country on separate trips and definitely a place we keep close to our hearts. Easily a big inspiration for the birth of Dos Ombré and our love of home wares, we hope to revisit together in the future.
Antigua is a 45 min pictures’ drive through lush green mountains from Guatemala City. It is a colonial city in the central highlands of Guatemala, heritage listed and its beauty is incomparable. Antigua is a colonial city with colorful buildings, Spanish baroque architecture and surrounded by three large volcanoes, which dominate the dreamy horizon. Wake up every morning to crisp high altitude fresh air and local Mayan woman carrying bundles of exotic flowers and fruits on their heads through the streets each morning. An abundance of vibrant colours and handmade goods are everywhere.
Try to speak Española. Eat chocolate from one of the local chocolate mares. For coffee lovers, enjoy the amazing Guatemalan coffee beans. Take so many photos; it is seriously hard to get a bad photo. Meet the locals and smile with the street kids, they are beautiful people. Sneak peek into the many botanical courtyard gardens around. Walk the beautifully cobbled streets.
Take a stroll through central park, and visit the Cathedral of San Jose lit up in all its beauty at night. Get lost in the cobblestone back streets and secret lanes that lead you to the most incredible ruins and ancient cathedrals. There is so much to find in this beautiful city. Go on a local chicken bus. Gaze at the former El Carmen Church, it is incredible! Stroll up to the hill to the Cerro De La Cruz where you’ll have the most incredible view of the city below and dominant volcano De Agua behind the cross monument. Wonder the rooftops of the old colorful buildings, here you’ll have an amazing birds eye view of this accent city and the volcano De Agua.
Walk to 5th Ave North, one of the most popular streets in Antigua lined with cafe’s, shopping and restaurants and the most distinguishable landmark in the city, the yellow Santa Catalina Arch. Iconic and picturesque with Volcano De Ague as the backdrop.
Pacaya Volcano is alive and active. This by far, has to be one of the most outrageous, incredible and bizarre experiences to date in our travel dairy. Have you ever toasted marshmallows on flowing lava from a live volcano? Pacaya Volcano has two hikes per day, Sunrise and Sunset delivering out of this world landscape and the closets we’ve ever felt to landing on Mars. Handing hint: buy the sticks!
If you are brave enough, the street food is where it’s at, the best homemade tortillas known to man kind. The exotic flavors and so cheap, you’ll find vendors lining the street all over Antigua, particularly near the parks and churches. If you’d prefer something more civilize, you can eat at one of the many restaurants in Antigua, with the romantic outside courtyards and terrace dining, some even peering into ancients ruins of nearby cathedrals.
Antigua street Market filled with Mayan trinkets, treasures and colorful textiles, both lining the streets outdoor, plus Mercado de Artesanias in the west end of town. If you have more time, head to Lake Atitlan for peaceful pleasures and ultimate yoga retreats, plus Chichicastenango where you’ll find the world’s larges handicrafts flea market, held every Thursday and Sunday.

After many amazing adventures around the world, we have come to conclusion that the most special and truly magical secret spots are THE hardest to get to! Semuc Champey is no exception, taking an 8 hours chicken Bus (local bus) from Antigua through bumpy roads, it is no doubt worth the roadtrip. Semuc Champey roughly translate to ‘ where does the water hide’ true to name being buried in the Jungle of Alta Verapaz of northern Guatemala, close to Mexico. Calcified limestone with interconnecting waterfalls, make these lagoon-like jade pools a pretty special swimming hole and would happily transport there again in a heartbeat! Tree house accommodation and local guides to limestone caves and viewpoint hike looking over the spectacular valley of the pools below.
Put GUATEMALA on your bucket list must!
